Our Purpose

Helping you integrate the borderline personality

The research is clear – the root cause of borderline personality disorder is identity diffusion and a fantasy lens, which occurs when parts of one’s personality [personal reality] has not been fully integrated. Ashley Zahabian, who developed Reality Integration Therapy, created an education-based program that provides research and slow dosing of reality to rid the fantasy thinking and cognitive distortions that she herself faced when dealing with borderline personality. This directly solved the problem of identity diffusion, as she realised that the moment one enters reality, there is no more disorder.

Current methods to treat borderline personality disorder focus on the treatment of symptoms (emotional dysregulation, splitting, etc.) and not as much on the root cause. This leads to short-term management of the disorder, rather than long-term results.

Integrate BPD, our first product for individuals with borderline personality disorder and/or tendencies, educates you on your inner psychodynamics while guiding you through the process of integration, helping you achieve a long-term solution.

Integrate Modules

Browse a few examples of the modules that you will explore in Integrate.

The pre-modules give you a fundamental education in the areas of psychoanalysis that are necessary in order to understand the program material and work through integration. This includes learning terminology, about psychoanalysts and their contributions, and understanding different schools of psychoanalysis.

Borderline patients are emotionally dysregulated, highly attuned to others, and struggling to understand why they are different from those around them. This module is dedicated to understanding childhood impacts of abuse, control, and neglect, while also learning how to grieve traumatized and dissociated parts of ourselves.

Borderline patients often mislabel their emotions, and one of the most common mislabeled emotions is empathy. Understanding empathy from a new lens, understanding where the mislabeling is taking place, and being able to relearn how to label these emotions, reality, and body language can drastically impact how empaths behave going forward. Additionally, it is important to understand the defense mechanisms at play that create the distortions, psychosis, mislabeling of emotions, and hyper-empathic behavior.

Once empathy is understood from a new lens, we must visit opposing traits and emotions as well. Borderline patients often mislabel their emotions, which include narcissistic ones, too. Not only do they mislabel their emotions, but they rewrite reality to fit their defensive perception of reality. Understanding narcissism from a new lens, understanding where the mislabeling is taking place can drastically impact how borderline patients behave going forward. Additionally, it is important to understand the defense mechanisms at play that create the extreme levels of abuse and harm that they experience, even from themselves.

This module is focused on a vital phase of childhood called separation, which comes before individuation. Understanding this phase and how it impacts borderline patients, pathological narcissists, and children in general, can help one understand the injury that took place in childhood, causing one to be the way that they are. Even better, it opens the door to untangling psychosis, entering reality, and clearing the path for long-term healing.

This module is focused on a second vital phase of childhood called individuation. Understanding this phase and how it impacts borderline patients, pathological narcissists, and children in general, can help aid in the creation of a stable self again. Borderline patients tend to erode their own sense of self in order to avoid abandonment, and the individuation phase corrects for this error.

Individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and individuals diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder often find themselves in relationships with one another. This is because their fantasy defenses are a perfect match made in heaven. This module describes the fantasy defenses of each, why they have such a high affinity and chemistry, the underlying psychodynamics, and how they can learn to see reality with a clearer lens.

This module is focused on the development of healthy narcissism and the integration of the dissociated split self. Healthy narcissism differs from pathological narcissism in that it does not lack the ability to also acknowledge others in the process of loving oneself. Individuation is all about developing healthy boundaries and defining the bounds of you vs. others. Part of becoming your own individual is knowing exactly who you are and defining it with clear boundaries, which define exactly where you begin and where you end. This can include your thoughts, beliefs, wants, needs, desires, dreams, likes, and dislikes. This module is here to help you explore this. Integrating missing segments of a healthy and whole personality allows borderline patients to reduce splitting, emotional dysregulation, psychosis, dissociation, self-harm, etc.

Oftentimes when we face traumatic childhoods and never learn what healthy looks like, we are completely lost in how to identify, let alone create, healthy relationships. This module focuses on what healthy relationships look like and learning how to create them after integration.
